Albertha Melvina "Mel" Williams of Brockton, MA was 81 years of age when she went home to be with the Lord on September 25, 2024. Affectionately known as Aunty Mel, she was born on the Emerald Island of Montserrat, West Indies, to the late Catherine Meade and William Roach on October 8, 1942. She attended Bethel Primary School before moving to Antigua, where most of her children were born and where she met and married Dudley Williams. Albertha later migrated to Boston, Massachusetts, in 1981.
Albertha was a devoted wife and a beloved mother of her seven children: Cecil (late), Vincent, Seymour, Jacqueline, Brenda, Muriel, and Warrell. Her legacy will carry on through her 35 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. She is survived by her six siblings, Gwendolyn, Muriel, Ruth, Marjorie, Marvin, and Veronica. Albertha was truly loved by many for her generous and giving nature. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Her presence will be greatly missed. She will remain in our hearts forever.
Matthew 5:4 says, “Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
